To break up the rock in the basement area, blasting
was ruled out because it was so close to the garage
and there was concern about damaging the garage foundation.
So a large machine was brought in to break up the rock.
It's like a giant economy size jackhammer on a tracked
vehicle - called a "hoe ram".
