A Little "Friendly Persuasion"

When we got finished the first 11 rows of logs, a few errors had crept into the structure. Over the 40-foot length the wall was about 5/8" long, and there were some other errors that were similar.

The problem is, that the pre-cut logs could not be stretched. So when you need to pull the structure together, it takes some significant persuasion.

A "come-a-long" is a handy gadget to persuade a wood structure to come up square and true.

The wall with the large windows had much less structure to it, so temporary posts and other supports were needed so that the 12th row could be attached.

This section of the wall was leaning out a bit, so we applied a little persuasion to get it to line up.
